Egg Trays Manufacturing and Production Process

Why Egg Tray Production Line Popular?

Due to the environmental pollution caused by plastic packaging containers, countries around the world have increasingly emphasized environmental protection in recent years, and the importance of paper packaging containers has been increasingly recognized.
Pulp molded trays such as egg trays and fruit trays have become ideal packaging products for eggs and fruits due to their excellent protective performance and low cost.
The fully automatic egg tray production line is a highly efficient and intelligent production system mainly used to process waste paper or pulp materials into egg trays (egg cartons).
AGICO’s fully automatic egg tray production line can be used to produce egg trays, fruit trays, egg cartons and other products. With high efficiency, high output, energy saving, and increased speed, it is currently a leading egg tray production line in China.

Egg Trays Manufacturing Process

AGICO’s fully automatic egg tray production line integrates pulping, molding, drying, and stacking into one system, automatically and continuously completing each process.

Pulping System

Waste paper material such as old newspapers, magazines, and cartons is processed through breaking, screening, and adding chemical additives to produce pulp of a certain concentration for molding.
During the pulping process, the most commonly used equipment is the pulper, which breaks the waste paper into fiber fragments and mixes it with water to form the initial pulp.
A mixer or homogenizer further refines the fibers, removes impurities, and forms a uniform pulp.

Molding System

The pulp is transported through pipelines to the mold area of the forming machine.
The mold is immersed in the pulp, and through vacuum suction, the pulp is evenly adsorbed onto the specially designed forming mold, forming the concave-convex structure of the egg tray and producing a wet molded product, which is then transferred to the drying system.

Drying System

Using heat sources such as gas, LPG, LNG, diesel, steam, or heat-conducting oil, the wet molded product is dried.
One drying method involves conveying the egg trays into a high-temperature drying box or tunnel where hot air circulates to evaporate moisture.
Another method uses single-layer or multi-layer dryers, where multi-layer heat exchange accelerates drying, saving space and improving drying efficiency.

Stacking and Packing System

The dried egg tray products are stacked in set quantities using robotic arms or automatic stackers.
A packing machine wraps them with plastic film or paper tape, labels them, and then conveys them to the storage area.

Features of AGICO Fully Automatic Egg Tray Production Line

Fully Automatic Pulping System

AGICO’s egg tray production line is equipped with an intelligent pulping system that automatically adjusts pulp concentration with a high level of precision—up to 0.01%. This ensures stable pulp consistency throughout the production process, which is critical for maintaining product quality.
The system is designed with multiple purification units to effectively remove impurities from the raw materials (such as old newspapers, magazines, and cardboard), resulting in a high level of pulp cleanliness.
A homogenizer is used to disperse fibers evenly, ensuring a smooth and uniform pulp mixture. This significantly improves the strength, appearance, and overall quality of the final molded products.

Energy-Saving Rotary Drum Forming Machine

The forming unit adopts an energy-efficient rotary drum design with fewer mold surfaces, which reduces mold manufacturing and maintenance costs.
Its high-speed operation can produce up to 20 trays per minute, greatly increasing productivity.
The forming system features a dynamic-static ring structure, which helps reduce the moisture content of the wet molded products to as low as 69%, minimizing drying time and energy usage in the subsequent drying process.

Multi-Layer Drying Line

The drying system includes an advanced multi-layer drying line that offers significant advantages over traditional single-layer designs.
It reduces energy consumption by up to 24%, thanks to its compact and thermally efficient structure.
The system achieves up to 90% heat efficiency, and the exhaust heat is recycled within the system to further save energy and reduce operational costs.
Due to its vertical multi-layer design, it occupies less floor space, making it suitable for factories with limited area.
Various energy sources can be used, including natural gas, diesel, or steam, offering flexibility based on local energy availability and cost.

This integrated design enhances the overall efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness of the egg tray production process, making AGICO’s solution one of the most advanced in the industry.

With fast operation, high capacity, small footprint, high efficiency, and energy saving, the fully automatic egg tray production line equipped with complete systems not only represents a major breakthrough for AGICO but also marks a significant advancement in the pulp molding industry.
After thirty years of development, China’s plant fiber molding industry has maintained a high level of growth for many years. However, despite the current industry boom, weaknesses such as “insufficient production capacity” and “low levels of automation and intelligence in production lines” have been exposed.
AGICO Technology has focused on the research and manufacturing of pulp molding production lines for many years, constantly innovating and breaking new ground, helping the industry solve key bottlenecks and promoting the development of the pulp molding industry toward automation, intelligence, and energy efficiency.
